Verizon FiOS Putting Pressure on Cable

Broadband is expanding at a rapid pace, and Verizon FiOS is changing the landscape of how we access the internet. Do people even connect to the internet via their telephone line anymore? People are craving speed and FiOS is delivering lightning quick service.

Verizon FiOS now has over 3 millions customers and are service many with 50mbps service. There are even plans to roll out 100mbps. The future is bound to see us access the internet similiar to TV, where you flip a button and it is plentiful. Bandwidth wii help this cause and Verizon FiOS has positioned themselves to be a primary service provider.

The increase in broadband speeds will force the cable companies to be competitive or fade away. FiOS is in direct competition with cable companies are their high speeds work favorably for them.

The end of 2009 will bring some interesting action as the competiton heats up. I am sure the cable companies will give fiOS a run for their money, but affordability, service and speed are the three big criteria that will separate success from failure.
