Verizon FiOS TV Launches in Washington State With 98 HD Channels

The future of Verizon FiOS TV has arrived for many in Washington State where the nation's fastest-growing television service provider announced on Tuesday, Sept. 9. This service offers 98 HD channels, giving customers more HD channels than Comcast.

In excess of 80,000 households in Washington now have the option to order the ultimate home-entertainment experience of Verizon FiOS TV service. More importantly, the service of the Verizon's FiOS Triple Play will be made available as well where you can bundle services.

New customers in Washingon state who subscribe to Verizon FiOS TV by Oct. 4 will receive their choice of a year's free use of a DVR or an HD Home Media DVR. Verizon FiOS is also offering new customers, or existing customers who upgrade to a bundled package, one free month of HBO and Cinemax.

At the end of the second quarter, Verizon announced that it had 1.4 million Verizon FiOS TV subscribers and nearly 2 million FiOS Internet subscribers nationwide.

Verizon continues its rapid expansion into additional communities in the coming months and will compete aggressively against the local cable providers for customers.
